Authorities recover stolen vehicles and rescue captives in Mexico

Security forces in Mexico have responded to two separate incidents involving theft and unlawful detention. In Veracruz, the Secretariat of Public Security and the State Attorney General's Office recovered three vehicles stolen during a mass robbery on the Puebla-Orizaba highway near Cumbres de Maltrata. The robbery, which occurred on the night of October 23, involved armed, hooded individuals who intercepted four families. The recovered vehicles, including a Mitsubishi Xpander, a Chevrolet Suburban, and a Haval, were found abandoned in sugarcane fields in Acultzingo. One vehicle remains missing.

In Ciudad Juárez, state police rescued eight foreign nationals who were allegedly being held against their will in a residence. The group, consisting of six Guatemalans, one Salvadoran, and one Ecuadorian, reported they had been detained for six days after paying a couple for transport to the United States. Two individuals, identified as Bairo Amiclar C. R. and Yaquelin Mineidi R. C., were arrested at the scene and placed at the disposal of the Federal Attorney General's Office.
