Authorities search for missing persons in Córdoba, Veracruz

Authorities in Córdoba, Veracruz, are searching for two individuals reported missing in the region.

Family members of 33-year-old Javan Omar Escamirosa Sánchez held a protest at the Córdoba Municipal Palace to demand faster investigations. Escamirosa was last seen in the town of Peñuela on October 11 after leaving a gathering with friends. Despite an official search notice being issued on October 13, his family reports a lack of concrete progress from the Fiscalía and the State Search Commission.

Separately, the Veracruz State Attorney General's Office has activated the Alba Protocol to locate 15-year-old Mariana Jazmín Ojeda Agustín, who disappeared on October 24. Ojeda Agustín is a high school student described as having a slender build, light brown wavy hair, and a piercing on her lower lip. She was last seen wearing a light gray sweatshirt, an orange top, black pants, and white Adidas sneakers.
