Authorities seize illegal hydrocarbon tanker in Istmo de Tehuantepec

Authorities in the Istmo de Tehuantepec region seized a tanker truck suspected of transporting illegal hydrocarbons. The operation was a coordinated effort involving the Secretariat of National Defense (Sedena), the Secretariat of the Navy (Semar), and the State Police.

The intervention occurred on Federal Highway 185 near Piedra Blanca, San Juan Guichicovi, following a report of a parked vehicle. During the operation, infantry elements detained one male individual and impounded a white Kenworth tractor-trailer belonging to Petro Pipas. The vehicle was equipped with a chrome container featuring black stripes, which was found to be carrying an unspecified quantity of hydrocarbons. Personnel from Petróleos Mexicanos (Pemex) physical security were also present at the scene. The detained individual and the vehicle have been turned over to the appropriate authorities for further investigation.
