Law enforcement agencies in Malaysia and Indonesia have conducted significant operations targeting the illegal wildlife trade involving pangolin scales.

In Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, authorities conducting Operasi Bersepadu Khazanah seized 376.2 kilograms of pangolin scales. The raid resulted in the arrest of three local men. The total value of the seized items, which included scales, mobile phones, and weighing equipment, is estimated at RM401,700. The case is being investigated under the Wildlife Conservation Act 2010.

In South Kalimantan, Indonesia, police intercepted a shipment of 57.88 kilograms of pangolin scales. Three individuals were arrested in Tabalong Regency. Investigations revealed that the scales were purchased for approximately Rp800,000 per kilogram and were intended for sale via social media for Rp3 million per kilogram. Authorities noted that pangolin scales are often trafficked to countries such as Singapore, Cambodia, and Vietnam for use in traditional medicine.
