Authorities shut down illegal gambling site in Brazil and restaurant in Portugal

Authorities in São Vicente, Brazil, have closed a commercial establishment in the Jóquei Club neighborhood following an integrated inspection under Operation Ferro-Velho. During the routine check of scrap metal and recycling businesses, officials discovered four illegal slot machines operating clandestinely. The business owner failed to provide the required municipal operating licenses, leading to the immediate closure of the premises. The Criminalistics Institute conducted field forensics on the seized electronic gambling equipment and cash, and the case has been referred to the 2nd District Police Station.

In Sintra, Portugal, a restaurant located in the Alegro Sintra commercial center has been ordered to suspend all activities due to severe hygiene and food safety violations. Following complaints, a joint inspection by police and health authorities revealed failures in HACCP systems, inadequate pest control, poor food storage, and a lack of sanitation supplies for workers. Approximately 102 kilograms of food items were seized due to improper conservation and lack of traceability. The establishment is prohibited from reopening until all irregularities are corrected and express authorization is granted by health authorities.
