Vulnerable populations receive legal and social protection in Latin America

Various social and legal interventions have been reported across Latin America involving vulnerable populations. In Peru, the Ministry of Women and Vulnerable Populations (MIMP) reported that its ANNA 1810 helpline assisted over 9,000 children and adolescents at risk between January and July 2026. Additionally, a court in Nauta, Loreto, issued immediate protection measures for two minors following allegations of human trafficking for sexual exploitation.

In Venezuela, authorities in Tucacas arrested three individuals for the alleged cruel treatment and abandonment of two children, aged 5 and 7, who were found without adult supervision.

In Mexico, the DIF Tampico system successfully reunited three elderly individuals with their families after they were found in vulnerable conditions on public roads.
