Authors Alex Capus and Alexander Häusser scheduled for German book readings
Two literary events are scheduled in Germany featuring prominent authors.
Alex Capus will present his new novel, “Querfeldein,” at the Stadt- und Schulbücherei in Gunzenhausen on November 20. The novel is set a century ago in a Swiss village near the German border, following the life of an innkeeper named Arnold and the subsequent drama involving his daughter Clara and a smuggler in 1933. Capus, known for his historical storytelling, intends to discuss the narrative through his unique oral storytelling style rather than a direct reading.
In Bielefeld, author Alexander Häusser will present his novel, “Kurze Tage des Glücks,” at the Bürgerwache on November 12. Published by Pendragon Verlag, the story is set in Bremerhaven during the 1930s and follows a love triangle shaped by loss and the social pressures of the era. The event is free to the public.
