Authors hold literary readings in Erkrath and Herschbach

Various literary events took place in Germany, featuring local authors presenting their works to community audiences.

In Erkrath, author Anne van Straelen presented her debut novel, ‘Adas Sommer’, as part of the ‘Runter vom Sofa’ series organized by the Stadtbücherei Erkrath. The autobiographical novel explores a family search for roots in Southern France, inspired by the history of van Straelen’s father, who was a prisoner of war and forced laborer in the region after World War II.

In Herschbach, author Micha Krämer held a reading for his North Sea-themed novel, ‘Sommer, Sand und Campingterror’. During the event, Krämer discussed the challenges of publishing and noted that a new Westerwald crime novel is expected for the third Westerwälder Krimifestival in September 2027.
