Autistic 9‑Year‑Old Learns Quran Reading in Amasya
Nine‑year‑old Asilhan Günaydın, who has autism spectrum disorder, learned to read the Qur'an during a summer Qur'an course organized by the Amasya Mufti Office together with the Amasya Autism Association. The program was held at the historic Akşemsettin Mosque and aimed to give children with special needs access to religious education.
The event concluded with a celebration in which a cake was cut and the provincial mufti, İbrahim Yavuz, presented Asilhan with a Qur'an as a gift. Association president İbrahim Kurt and families of the participants also attended, highlighting the cooperation between religious authorities and disability groups to support inclusive learning.
