Auto mechanic uses şalgam suyu as emergency engine coolant

An auto mechanic, İbrahim Yılmaz, used şalgam suyu (a traditional turnip juice) as engine coolant after his vehicle broke down on a highway while traveling from Adana to Istanbul. After a radiator hose disconnected, causing the engine to overheat, Yılmaz utilized the souvenir drink he had purchased in Adana to reach a rest area.

Yılmaz, a 43-year-old mechanic from Büyükçekmece, managed to drive approximately 40 kilometers to the nearest service station without further issues. Once at the facility, he drained the liquid and flushed the system before refilling it with proper antifreeze. He noted that since the drink contains water and is safe for human consumption, he believed it would not harm the engine in an emergency.
