AutoAthina 2026 to showcase Greek automotive market growth
The second edition of AutoAthina 2026 is scheduled to open on October 3 at the Metropolitan Expo near Athens International Airport. The event aims to highlight the Greek automotive market, its evolving mobility dynamics, and shifting consumer preferences.
Following a period of economic recovery, Greece saw a significant rise in vehicle registrations, with approximately 144,200 new cars recorded in 2025—a 5.2% annual increase and the highest sales volume in sixteen years. The market is currently defined by two major trends: the rise of hybrid engines, which now account for about half of all sales, and an increasing presence of Chinese manufacturers using Greece as a gateway to Southern Europe.
The exhibition is expected to feature 52 brands and various mobility professionals, including major European manufacturers such as Alfa Romeo, Audi, BMW, and Fiat.
