Autodesk acquires MaintainX for $3.6B to unify operations

At the Autodesk University (AU) 2026 conference in Las Vegas, Autodesk highlighted a strategic shift toward converging design, manufacturing, and operational workflows. A central component of this strategy is the $3.6 billion cash acquisition of MaintainX, which aims to integrate maintenance and frontline operational workflows into a unified platform.

Through the creation of Autodesk Operations Solutions (AOS), the company seeks to bridge the gap between engineering decisions and long-term operational experience. Stephen Hooper, Senior Vice President of Autodesk Operations Solutions, stated that the goal is to enable customers to move from merely managing operations to continuously improving them by leveraging data and preparing for AI-driven workflows.
