Autodesk and LBR Manufacturing showcase integrated CNC workflows

Autodesk and the startup LBR Manufacturing are demonstrating advancements in integrated manufacturing workflows. Autodesk is showcasing its Fusion for Manufacturing platform, which connects design, computer-aided manufacturing (CAM), additive manufacturing, and subtractive machining within a single environment. The platform is designed to streamline workflows for mold, tool, and die manufacturers by aligning design intent with manufacturing processes, thereby reducing rework and accelerating production.

A key feature of the Autodesk platform is GPU-accelerated toolpath simulation, which allows engineers to validate cutting strategies and identify potential issues more quickly. Additionally, the software includes specialized toolpath strategies for finishing complex mold surfaces.

In collaboration with Autodesk, LBR Manufacturing, a startup based in Braunschweig, Germany, is utilizing the Fusion platform to support its compact five-axis CNC milling machine. This machine is designed to fit through standard doors, allowing for in-house manufacturing in smaller spaces such as design studios or engineering offices, aiming to simplify the entry into professional machining.
