Autoliv reports Q3 2026 earnings miss amid production declines
Autoliv, a global automotive safety systems supplier, reported third-quarter 2026 adjusted earnings per share of $2.19, missing analyst estimates of $2.34. Revenue for the quarter totaled $2.69 billion, a 0.5% decrease compared to the $2.71 billion recorded in the same period last year. Organic sales declined by 1.1% when excluding currency fluctuations and acquisitions.
CEO Mikael Bratt noted that while global light vehicle production fell nearly 2% during the quarter, the company expanded its market share in Asia by growing alongside Chinese original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Chinese OEMs now account for 58% of Autoliv's sales in China.
Despite facing cost increases of nearly 2 percentage points due to tariffs, logistics, and raw materials like metals and oil, the company expects its full-year adjusted operating margin to be approximately 10.5%. Management attributed the ability to manage these headwinds to internal efficiency, spending controls, and plant automation.
