Automakers implement new technologies for electric vehicle driving dynamics
Automakers are implementing diverse technological approaches to enhance the driving experience in electric vehicles.
Opel has introduced the Grandland Electric, built on the STLA Medium platform. The SUV features a 73 kWh usable battery integrated into the floor to lower the center of gravity. The high-specification Ultimate model includes all-wheel drive and utilizes a multi-link rear suspension to manage its weight and performance.
Porsche is focusing on software-driven engagement with its E-Shift system for the Taycan. This technology simulates a traditional gearbox by adding seven virtual gears to the existing two-speed transmission. The system uses software to influence acceleration, sound, and torque delivery, providing a tactile sensation of shifting to increase driver immersion.
