Electric vehicle market sees shifting consumer demands and price competition

The electric vehicle (EV) market is undergoing significant shifts in consumer requirements and competitive pricing. In Taiwan, the rise of EVs is transforming residential real estate standards. Homebuyers are increasingly prioritizing charging infrastructure, moving beyond basic amenities to view charging capabilities as a necessity. Experts note that for older residential communities, implementing smart energy management systems (EMS) and slow-charging equipment may serve as flexible solutions to address limited power capacity.

In China, the automotive sector is entering the ‘Golden September and Silver October’ peak sales window, triggering widespread price reductions. Tesla China has introduced cash incentives for Model 3 and Model Y orders, while Xiaomi, Li Auto, and several other brands have launched various promotions, including interest-free loans and insurance subsidies. Industry analysts suggest these moves are aimed at boosting sales volume and clearing inventory rather than initiating a malicious price war.

Additionally, the integration of high-end smart EVs into official diplomatic services is increasing. During the APEC Energy Week in Beijing, BAIC Group’s Stelato G9 and S9 models were designated as official service vehicles, highlighting the growing role of intelligent new energy vehicles in high-specification business and government travel scenarios.
