Automakers report high vehicle orders at GIIAS 2026
Automakers Daihatsu and Chery reported significant vehicle order volumes during the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026.
Daihatsu secured 591 vehicle order forms (SPK), with the Sigra model emerging as the top seller with 122 units. Other notable contributors included the Gran Max Van and Gran Max Pick Up. The company also received recognition for its K-Vision concept car, which features SMART HYBRID technology, and its passenger booth.
Chery recorded 3,500 vehicle order forms, representing a 62.56 percent year-on-year increase compared to GIIAS 2025. The Chery Q, a compact electric vehicle launched in late July 2026, accounted for approximately 50 percent of these orders, totaling 1,750 units. The Chery Q was also the most frequently test-driven model during the event.
