Automation and AI reduce job availability for young people

A survey conducted by a recruitment company indicates that 56% of young people aged 18 to 24 believe automation and artificial intelligence have significantly reduced the number of available jobs for those starting their careers.

Three-quarters of respondents in this age group report that finding employment has become more difficult compared to last year. This difficulty is attributed to a general contraction in job offers and increased employer requirements for candidates. Despite entry-level positions remaining a consistent market segment, the demand for prior experience—even for junior roles—remains the primary obstacle to employment.

Additionally, more than half of the young respondents expressed a willingness to accept jobs unrelated to their field of study to secure a monthly income. Approximately 40% would consider such a compromise on a temporary basis until they find a position within their desired professional field.
