Automotive and manufacturing sectors scale industrial AI applications

Automotive and manufacturing companies are increasingly integrating artificial intelligence to optimize factory operations. HARMAN Automotive and FORVIA HELLA are collaborating with Arch Systems to scale AI use cases that improve uptime, throughput, and quality. A deployment at HARMAN’s facility in Suzhou, China, reportedly resulted in a 37% improvement in Defects Per Million Units (DPMU) and a 6 to 8 percentage-point increase in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).

In a separate development, ERP software provider Syspro has launched Torque, an industrial AI platform designed to work with existing ERP, MES, and SCADA systems. The platform utilizes a chat feature to allow users to build AI agents without manual coding. This launch comes as manufacturers seek to move AI beyond the pilot stage, addressing high failure rates in generative AI deployments where many projects struggle to deliver intended return on investment.
