Automotive companies expand presence and investment in Colombia

The Colombian automotive sector is seeing significant activity from major players. Auteco, a leading company in the country's automotive industry, is celebrating 85 years of operation. To mark this milestone, the group has announced an investment plan of US$8 million aimed at international expansion and the strengthening of sustainable mobility initiatives.

In the Tolima region, the automotive brand Chery has achieved a market share of 3.96% in the light vehicle segment as of July 2026. This growth marks the first time the brand has entered the top nine brands in the department. To support this expansion, Chery and Autolima have committed an investment of over $700 million to strengthen infrastructure and operations in Ibagué, a project expected to generate more than 30 local jobs.
