Stellantis reports stable US sales as Ram growth offsets Jeep decline
Stellantis reported stable third-quarter sales in the United States, with the Ram brand seeing a 29% increase in sales to offset a 20% decline for Jeep. While Ram 1500 sales surged by 73%, Jeep experienced significant drops in models like the Compass and Grand Cherokee. Overall, Stellantis US sales remained nearly flat for the quarter, though the first nine months showed a 3% increase.
In Mexico, Stellantis is pausing two truck plants in Saltillo, Coahuila, for one week each to conduct maintenance, line changes, and staff training. The affected sites include the Light Duty plant, which produces the Ram 1500. The company confirmed that workers will receive full pay during the stoppage and no layoffs have been announced.
Other automotive developments include Toyota and Scania partnering to test 40 hydrogen fuel cell trucks in Europe starting in 2027. Additionally, Volvo is exploring the development of a new luxury F-segment SUV to compete with the Range Rover, specifically targeting the US market.
