Automotive industry sees strategic shifts in commercial vehicles and distribution

The automotive industry is seeing significant shifts in manufacturing and distribution strategies. At the IAA Transportation show in Hanover, Stellantis representative Emanuele Cappellano called on the European Union to adjust CO2 regulations for commercial vehicles, arguing that current targets do not align with professional demand or infrastructure deployment. Stellantis is planning an offensive involving 11 models to increase its global market coverage from 70% to 90%.

Renault also announced a new push in the utility sector with the launch of the Trafic van E-Tech. In the distribution sector, Groupe Bernard has expanded its portfolio by adding Chinese brand Xpeng to its offerings in Montélimar, joining its existing lineup of MG, Leapmotor, Omoda & Jaecoo, and Chery.

Additionally, the Musée national de l’Automobile in Mulhouse has launched a fundraising appeal to repair roof damage caused by water infiltration to protect its vehicle collection.
