Automotive industry shifts focus to AI and electrification
The automotive industry is shifting its competitive focus from manufacturing locations to the speed of technological innovation, specifically regarding artificial intelligence and electrification. At a recent technology roundtable, Mária Goldberger, Managing Director of Genius Automotive Europe, emphasized that future winners will be companies that develop intelligent vehicles capable of understanding and supporting users.
OMODA & JAECOO has announced that it will cease introducing new internal combustion engine models by 2027, focusing instead on hybrid (HEV), plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and electric (EV) powertrains. The brand is utilizing Hungary as a key market for its electrified portfolio, noting that nearly half of the OMODA & JAECOO models registered in Hungary in the first half of 2026 utilized Super Hybrid System (SHS) technology.
The Super AI Cockpit is scheduled to make its European debut at the Paris Motor Show on October 12, alongside the European premiere of the OMODA 4.
