Automotive industry shifts toward new technology and affordable electric models

The automotive industry is undergoing significant shifts driven by technological advancements and changing consumer priorities. Manufacturers are increasingly phasing out traditional features to reduce weight, cost, and complexity. Notable disappearing elements include full-sized spare tires, which are being replaced by repair kits or compact temporary wheels, and mechanical oil dipsticks, which are being superseded by electronic sensors.

In the segment of affordable mobility, Renault is leveraging nostalgia to market its new electric vehicle lineup. Following the Renault R5 and Renault 4, the brand has introduced the new Twingo, a compact electric model inspired by its 1992 predecessor. In Slovakia, the Twingo Evolution version has been launched with an expected starting price below 20,000 euros, signaling a strategic move toward more accessible battery-powered transportation.
