Automotive industry updates: Range Rover Electric, Bentley Supersports, and Toyota GR GT

Jaguar Land Rover has launched the Range Rover Electric, the brand’s first battery-electric model. The flagship SUV features a 118.5-kWh battery, delivering up to 333 miles of EPA-estimated range and 542 horsepower. It supports fast charging, capable of a 10-to-80 percent charge in approximately 22 minutes, and includes NACS compatibility for the Tesla Supercharger network in North America.

In the high-performance segment, Bentley has introduced the new Supersports. This rear-wheel-drive, non-hybrid Continental has been significantly lightened by removing hybrid hardware and rear seats, resulting in a kerb weight of 1,999kg. It is powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 producing 657bhp, with only 500 numbered units planned for production.

Additionally, Toyota Gazoo Racing is testing the camouflaged GR GT. This upcoming flagship is a front-mid-engine, rear-drive two-seater featuring a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor, targeting a combined output of 641 hp. The vehicle is expected to launch around 2027.
