Automotive market trends show divergent sales for SUVs in Brazil and US
The automotive market exhibits significant regional differences in SUV performance. In the United States, the Honda CR-V has seen strong success, surpassing 226,000 registrations in the first half of the year, with hybrid versions accounting for 51% of those sales.
In contrast, the Honda CR-V has seen low adoption in Brazil, with only 133 licenses recorded in 2026 according to the Brazilian Association of Electric Vehicles (ABVE). Despite its features, the model's price of R$ 353,500 has not driven high volume compared to competitors like the BYD Atto 8.
Market data from the FIPE table for October 2026 also highlights value trends for used vehicles in Brazil. The 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander GT 3.0 V6 is valued at R$ 49,447, a price point comparable to much smaller or newer vehicles, such as a 2022 Fiat Mobi or a 2013 Ford EcoSport.
