Automotive trends highlight boxy SUV designs and new Honda scooter models
The automotive sector in Indonesia is seeing diverse developments ranging from design trends to new product launches and consumer guidance.
In vehicle design, the boxy SUV silhouette is emerging as an enduring format rather than a passing trend. Steve Eum, Global Design Director at Chery, notes that the square shape offers emotional appeal, a sense of security, and practical advantages such as optimized cabin packaging and storage space. Several Chinese brands, including GWM, Haval, and Jetour, are adopting this style, alongside Chery’s electric and hybrid lines.
In the scooter market, Honda has introduced the Stylo 160 under the concept ‘Fashion Meets Power’. The model aims to blend stylish, modern aesthetics with practical daily performance, featuring a digital panel meter, smart key system, and USB charging capabilities.
Additionally, guidance for vehicle owners emphasizes the importance of proper procedures when filing first-time car insurance claims. Key steps include ensuring safety, documenting damage thoroughly with photos, and reporting incidents immediately to avoid claim delays or denials.
