Automotive market trends and new vehicle technologies are highlighting different consumer needs. In Europe, the Dacia Sandero has emerged as a top-selling model due to its affordability, while the Renault Scénic was named Car of the Year for 2024. Regarding specific demographics, the ADAC has identified key criteria for vehicles suitable for seniors. Recommended models prioritize ease of use, visibility, and accessibility. Key technical requirements include a vehicle length of no more than 4.5 meters, a height of at least 1.5 meters, a seat height of at least 47 centimeters for an upright position, and a loading edge height not exceeding 78 centimeters.

In terms of technical innovation, Dacia is developing a hybrid four-wheel-drive system for the Duster and Bigster models. This system utilizes a 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine capable of running on petrol or LPG, paired with 48V mild-hybrid technology. The rear axle is driven electrically by an electric motor with a two-speed gearbox, though early assessments suggest the integration between the combustion engine and electric motor requires further refinement to ensure smoother operation.
