Automotive trends: Hyundai Tucson leads used SUV rankings as Rivian prepares R2 launch

The automotive market is seeing significant developments in both the used and electric vehicle sectors. The Hyundai Tucson has been ranked as a top choice for used compact SUVs under 20,000 euros/dollars by experts from iSeeCars and What Car?. Analysts highlight its reliability, value retention, safety, and spacious interior as key advantages over competitors like the Volvo XC40 and BMW X1.

In the electric vehicle sector, Rivian is preparing to launch the R2, a more compact and affordable mid-size SUV designed to expand its market reach. Production of the R2 is scheduled to begin in Illinois in 2026. The vehicle is expected to offer varying performance levels, with a top-tier Performance version delivering 656 HP and a 0-60 mph time of 3.6 seconds. The R2 features an 87.9 kWh battery pack with an estimated range of up to 345 miles and supports fast DC charging.
