Automotoclub Storico Italiano celebrates 60 years in Misano Adriatico
The Automotoclub Storico Italiano (ASI) is celebrating its 60th anniversary in Misano Adriatico with an expansive exhibition showcasing the history of Italian mechanics. The event features a wide array of historical vehicles, including land, water, and air transport, spanning both military and civilian sectors.
ASI President Alberto Scuro, who also leads the International Federation of Historic Vehicles (FIVA), emphasized that historical motoring should be viewed as a cultural, economic, and diplomatic asset rather than mere nostalgia. He highlighted the importance of Italy's unique artisanal supply chain and the potential for historical motoring to be recognized by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage.
To address environmental concerns, the ASI has been researching biofuels for three years that are compatible with vintage vehicles, including those over a century old. The organization aims to modernize the sector through digitalization and increased engagement with younger generations.
