Netflix releases ‘Unabomber’ biopic starring Russell Crowe

Netflix has released the thriller film ‘Unabomber’, directed by Janus Metz, which explores the life of Theodore Kaczynski. The film depicts the contrast between Kaczynski’s early years as a gifted student at Harvard and his later years as a domestic terrorist who sent explosive packages across various US states.

The narrative structure alternates between two distinct periods: the late 1950s, focusing on Kaczynski’s academic formation, and the mid-1990s, detailing the FBI manhunt that led to his arrest. The cast includes Russell Crowe, Jacob Tremblay, Shailene Woodley, and Annabelle Wallis.

Critical reception has been mixed. While the sequences depicting Kaczynski’s youth have been noted for their interest, some reviews have criticized the segments involving the FBI investigation as being formulaic or unmemorable.
