Autumn fertilization recommended for vineyards and orchards
Autumn fertilization is identified as a critical agrotechnical measure for maintaining soil fertility and ensuring high-quality yields in the upcoming growing season. Following the first autumn rains, when soil moisture is sufficient for processing, it is an ideal time to replenish nutrients depleted during the vegetation period.
Applying organic and organo-mineral fertilizers improves soil structure, increases organic matter content, and stimulates microbiological activity. During colder periods, the decomposition of organic matter slows down, allowing nutrients to be released gradually as soil temperatures rise in the spring.
Specific pelletized fertilizers recommended for this period include Phenix (NPK 6-8-15 + MgO), which provides magnesium; Fulet (NPK 5-3-12), which is rich in organic matter and potassium; and Iside (NPK 12-5-15), a slow-release option for soils low in organic matter. The recommended application rate is approximately 75–100 kg per decare, followed by soil incorporation through plowing.
