Autumn festivals begin in Hirosaki and Obihiro
Seasonal autumn festivals have commenced in Japan, featuring chrysanthemum displays and foliage. In Hirosaki, the Hirosaki Castle Chrysanthemum and Autumn Leaves Festival opened on October 30. The event features a large flower art installation titled ‘Kinshu Hakko’, a five-meter-tall structure made using traditional Neputa techniques. Visitors can view approximately 3,700 cherry and maple trees, with peak autumn colors expected around November 3.
In Obihiro, the 57th Obihiro Chrysanthemum Festival is scheduled to open on October 31 at Tokachi Plaza. The festival, which runs until November 4, is one of the three major festivals in Obihiro and will include various events to celebrate the late autumn season.
