Autumn festivals held in Keremeos and Chilliwack
Various autumn festivals and agri-tourism events are taking place across British Columbia. In Keremeos, the Grist Mill and Gardens hosted its 12th annual Heritage Fall Fair. The event featured musical performances by K Creek Music, Dave and Kirby Barber, and Desert Gem Music, alongside activities such as a scavenger hunt, pumpkin decorating, a pie-eating contest, and a zucchini race. The fair also included a community tug-of-war involving the Keremeos Volunteer Fire Department.
In Chilliwack, Greendale Acres has launched its fall season with a corn maze and a series of themed events. Upcoming activities include Fairytale and Superhero Day on September 19, First Responders’ Day on September 26, and a National Day for Truth and Reconciliation event on September 30. The latter will feature performances by the Tzinquaw Dance Group, with partial proceeds donated to the Memiyelhtel Indigenous Youth Mentorship Program. The farm's seasonal schedule also includes Thanksgiving celebrations and an annual giant pumpkin weigh-off scheduled for October 17.
