Autumn Glow wins Winx Stakes at Royal Randwick

Autumn Glow secured her fourth Group 1 victory with a dominant performance in the $1 million Winx Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick. Ridden by James McDonald, the five-year-old favorite set a new race record time of 1m 21.03s, winning by one and a half lengths.

Sheza Alibi, trained by Peter Moody and Katherine Coleman, finished second despite a slow start from barrier one. Owner Fred Noffke expressed pride in the mare's performance, noting her potential for a rematch over a longer distance.

Following the win, trainer Chris Waller and owner John Messara are evaluating Autumn Glow’s next steps. The connections will decide within the coming weeks whether to target the $20 million The Everest at 1200m or the $5 million King Charles III Stakes at 1600m on October 17.
