Autumn Glow favored for King Charles III Stakes

The Chris Waller-trained mare Autumn Glow has emerged as the betting favorite for the upcoming King Charles III Stakes at Randwick. Australian betting sites list her at $1.40, ahead of competitors Ceolwulf ($4.40) and Pride Of Jenni ($6.50).

Ahead of the race, jockey Kerrin McEvoy endorsed the mare’s condition following a 1000m solo gallop at Rosehill. Although James McDonald is the committed jockey for the race, McEvoy noted that Autumn Glow displayed a great attitude and appeared to be in prime form.

Trainer assistant Charlie Duckworth confirmed the stable opted for a track gallop over a barrier trial to maintain fitness. The team expressed confidence in the five-year-old's ability to compete in the 1600m feature despite a month between runs, noting that elite horses often maintain aerobic capacity more easily.
