Autumn harvest events held in Tokyo and Kagoshima

Various agricultural and nature-themed events are being held across Japan to celebrate the autumn harvest.

In Inagi City, Tokyo, Pal System Tokyo will host sweet potato harvesting events at Inagi Megumi no Satoyama on October 25 and 31. Participants can harvest varieties such as ‘Silk Sweet’ and ‘Beni Haruka’ in a forest area that was revitalized from abandoned woodland. The event, supported by nuucoto, aims to connect people with nature and local soil.

In Kagoshima City, children participated in the ‘Autumn Dossa Festival’ at the Green Farm tourist agricultural park. The event featured sweet potato harvesting alongside activities such as catching rainbow trout and making sweets like sweet potatoes and dango, allowing participants to experience local seasonal flavors.
