Autumn health preparation through nutrition and lifestyle habits

As autumn approaches, maintaining health requires adapting to shorter days and changing routines. Rather than relying on single immune-boosting supplements, experts suggest focusing on foundational habits such as proper nutrition, adequate sleep, regular exercise, and stress management.

According to the National Institutes of Health (NIH), while vitamins and minerals are necessary for normal immune function, routine supplementation may offer little benefit for preventing infections if deficiencies are not present. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends a diverse diet including vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, and whole grains, suggesting a minimum daily intake of 400 grams of fruits and vegetables.

Seasonal produce such as apples, pears, pumpkins, beets, cabbage, and legumes provide excellent nutritional variety. Incorporating quick, nutrient-dense meals, such as spiced carrot and red lentil soups, can support a healthy lifestyle during the transition to colder months.
