Mushroom season in Poland sees abundant harvests and varying market prices

The autumn mushroom season in Poland has seen significant activity, with foragers reporting abundant harvests of porcini, bay boletes, and chanterelles. Social media reports highlight exceptionally large finds in various forest regions, driven by favorable moisture and temperature conditions.

Market prices for these mushrooms vary by location and species. In wholesale markets such as Łódź, porcini are priced between 25 and 50 PLN per kilogram, while chanterelles range from 30 to 35 PLN. In Wrocław, chanterelles are listed at approximately 29 to 32 PLN per kilogram.

Regulations apply to the sale of forest products. To sell fresh mushrooms at markets or retail points, they must possess a certificate issued by a mushroom classifier or expert to ensure safety and quality.
