Autumn seasonal tips for heather care and aurora photography

As autumn begins, seasonal advice covers both gardening and celestial observation. For those growing heather in pots, wilting may be caused by improper soil acidity or drainage rather than a lack of water. Heather thrives in acidic, airy soil; using universal substrates or alkaline water can prevent nutrient absorption, while pots without drainage holes can lead to root rot.

Regarding the Northern Lights, experts suggest that smartphone cameras can often capture colors like green, pink, or violet that are barely visible to the naked eye. To successfully photograph the aurora, it is recommended to find dark locations away from city lights, use a tripod to prevent motion blur during long exposures, and utilize night modes or timers on both iPhone and Android devices.
