Autumn travel trends highlight interest in nature and European heritage

Travel trends for the autumn season show a growing interest in nature-based experiences and cultural heritage. In Türkiye, the “Super September” trend and “lore chasing” are driving travelers toward natural landscapes, such as Lake Sapanca, where visitors seek meaningful connections with wildlife and scenery.

In Europe, data from the European Travel Commission and TUI Musement indicate that 94% of travelers are interested in history and culture during city breaks. A ranking of the 30 most popular European castles and palaces for 2026, based on Google review volume, places Prague Castle in the top spot. Other highly-rated sites include Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna and the Alhambra in Spain. Spain holds the highest representation on the list with six locations, including the Royal Palace of Madrid. Buda Castle in Budapest emerged as a notable new entry due to a significant increase in reviews.
