Autumn trekking requires preparation for changing mountain conditions

As autumn approaches, trekking conditions in mountainous regions like Val Senales undergo significant changes. Hikers must prepare for unpredictable weather, including sudden temperature drops, north winds, and early sunsets. In October and November, nighttime frosts can create unexpected icy patches on trails, even at moderate altitudes.

A specific route in Alto Adige leads to Rifugio Bella Vista, located at 2,845 meters above Maso Corto. The ascent via trail 3 involves approximately 830 meters of elevation gain and takes about two hours. While the path is well-marked, hikers should remain cautious of slippery rocks caused by morning frost and the physical demands of high-altitude environments.
