Autumn wellness: Managing health, skin, and diet during seasonal changes

As autumn approaches, changes in temperature and daylight affect biological rhythms, metabolism, and physical well-being. Experts suggest focusing on natural detoxification to support liver enzyme functions, which can slow down during seasonal transitions.

Regarding skincare, dermatologist Dr. Sadiye Kuş advises against drastically changing routines or overusing active ingredients like AHA, BHA, and retinol during this period. Instead, the focus should be on observing skin needs and adjusting moisturizers to combat dryness or sensitivity caused by changing humidity.

Additionally, while cold weather itself does not directly increase body fat, it can influence weight through increased appetite for high-calorie foods and reduced physical activity. Maintaining a balance of vegetables, fruits, legumes, and proteins is recommended to manage energy intake during the colder months.
