AVA-ASAJA inaugurates new provincial headquarters in Castellón

The Valencian Association of Farmers (AVA-ASAJA) has inaugurated its new provincial headquarters in Castellón, serving as a hub for both AVA-ASAJA and ASAJA Castellón. The facility, located on Panderola Street, includes 400 square meters of space featuring training rooms, meeting rooms, consultation offices, and multifunctional areas designed to provide representation and advisory services for agricultural management.

During the event, Cristóbal Aguado, president of AVA-ASAJA, called for greater guarantees for the future of Valencian agriculture. He highlighted critical challenges facing the sector, including the need for fair prices, reduced bureaucracy, and sufficient water supplies. Aguado also warned of the risks posed by an aging workforce—with the average farmer's age exceeding 65—and the abandonment of 180,000 hectares of farmland in the Valencian Community.

Juanfran Pérez Llorca, President of the Generalitat Valenciana, pledged regional government support for the agricultural sector, noting that 158 new farmers have joined the industry in Castellón due to recent regional measures. The inauguration was attended by various political, religious, and economic leaders, including the Bishop of Segorbe-Castellón, Casimiro López Llorente, who expressed concern regarding the profitability and subsistence of farmers and ranchers.
