ABC’s revival of *Scrubs* has promoted newcomer Ava Bunn, who plays intern Sam Tosh, to series regular status for its second season. She will join original series stars Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke and Donald Faison as the core cast continues.

Two recurring performers from season 1 – Joel Kim Booster (Dr. Kevin Park) and X Mayo (Nurse Raymond) – will not return. The remaining intern cohort – Jacob Dudman, David Gridley, Layna Mohammadi and Amanda Morrow – will stay on in recurring roles, as will several original actors such as John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, Neil Flynn and Robert Maschio. Season 2 is slated to premiere in the fall, following a first season that averaged 8.5 million cross‑platform viewers. Showrunner Aseem Batra heads the production alongside series creator Bill Lawrence and other executive producers.
