Avşa Island to host Adakarası Grape Harvest Festival

Avşa Island, located in the Marmara district of Balıkesir, will host the Adakarası Grape Harvest Festival on September 5-6, 2026. The two-day event aims to promote the region's viticulture culture, traditional production methods, and the locally significant Adakarası grape.

The festival program includes an Adakarası parade, grape crushing demonstrations, molasses production, and grape pressing workshops. On the second day, activities will feature discussions at the Avşa Çınaraltı Tea Garden and a grape harvest at the Mehmet Dalöğ Adakarası Vineyard. The event will conclude with an offering of sardines and grape juice at the Avşa Pier Square.
