Avalanche and Polygon see 95% price drops from previous peaks

Cryptocurrencies Avalanche (AVAX) and Polygon (POL) have experienced significant price declines, both falling over 95% from their peak values established during the 2021 market boom. Despite maintaining functional networks, active developer interest, and ongoing utility, both assets have struggled to recover their previous market valuations.

Avalanche, which reached highs near $145, currently trades at a fraction of that price. Similarly, Polygon, which transitioned its primary token from MATIC to POL, has seen a steep decline from its late 2021 highs. Analysts note that these established tokens carry heavy selling pressure from previous holders, a factor that distinguishes them from new projects currently in the presale phase, such as BlockDAG, which operate on fixed pricing schedules rather than reacting to historical market crashes.
