Avalanche Studios' cancelled Iron Man game footage leaks online

Approximately 97 minutes of leaked gameplay footage from a cancelled Iron Man video game developed by Avalanche Studios has surfaced online. The footage, reportedly recovered from a PlayStation 3 development kit and shared via the Internet Archive and Reddit, provides the first public look at the project that was in development during the early 2010s.

The leaked clips show an unfinished open-world experience featuring Iron Man flying through large environments, engaging in aerial combat with jets, and attacking military facilities. One segment, appearing to be an unfinished E3 demo, showcases heavy, hand-to-hand combat mechanics reminiscent of the Batman: Arkham series, alongside the use of repulsors and missiles. The footage also highlights semi-destructible environments where players can throw enemies through walls or destroy structures to create shortcuts.

Avalanche Studios co-founder Christofer Sundberg previously confirmed the project's existence and its subsequent cancellation around 2012, attributing the decision to Disney and Marvel due to internal company politics and scheduling pressures. This leaked build is distinct from the new Iron Man title currently under development by EA Motive.
