Avalon Cine + Stream promotes Argentine independent cinema
Avalon Cine + Stream is continuing its August programming with new screenings and upcoming special releases for September. The screenings take place at the Itaca Complejo Teatral in Buenos Aires, focusing on independent Argentine cinema that explores themes of memory, identity, art, and contemporary social issues.
Scheduled August screenings include ‘La espera’ by Darío Doria, which features testimonies regarding children's rights to live in a family, and ‘La pintura del futuro’ by Alejandro Maly, a documentary on artist Edgardo Marranti. Additionally, Celeste Contratti’s ‘Si el sueño fuera quererte dormiría eternamente’ will be shown on August 29.
For September, Avalon has announced two major releases that will include discussions with their directors. These include ‘Suite Juárez’, directed by Alejandro Venturini and Jean-Luc Thomas, which covers the life of tango musician Rubén Juárez, and ‘Somos y seremos mar’ by Malena Blanco, which documents a 1,900-kilometer march by the Indigenous Women and Diversities Movement for Good Living.
