Avana opens new affordable housing in Saskatoon
Saskatchewan-based company Avana has officially opened its first set of modern-style townhouses in the Evergreen neighbourhood of Saskatoon. These units provide affordable rental housing for families and individuals in need of support, featuring below-market rental rates approximately $1,000 per month based on income requirements.
This opening marks Avana's entry into the Saskatoon market. The company plans to expand significantly, with roughly 900 units expected to be available for lease over the next six months in the Kensington and Aspen Ridge areas. Avana aims to have built over 1,600 units in Saskatoon by 2028.
Avana partners with organizations that support women and children at risk of domestic violence. The company already operates approximately 2,000 units in Regina and over 400 in Edmonton.
